2000 Annual Report Executive Summary
Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) Enterprise Community
The CSRA Enterprise Community, Inc. has made a few milestone accomplishments this past year, with the challenge of operating without a designated Executive Director for the first eight months and little operational funding. We have continued to provide services to the community and the local board. The CSRA Enterprise Community is comprised of 10-census tracts covering six counties. We have a total of nine Human Development Centers (HDC); a center located in each census tract with one center designated for two census tracts. The HDC's provide services including GED classes, computer classes, after school tutoring, resource mother's life learning skills, and customer's service skills. We also have our Healthy Start initiative in the centers as well as certified nursing training classes. The original plan addressed the sustainability of the HDC's with the financial support coming from the local governments. The mere challenge of day to day operations for some local governments did not allow them to continue fiscal support of their HDC and other local governments implemented immediately the day to day operation of their HDC. All nine HDC's remain open today thanks to the community and local governmental support.
