The MDEZA Organization looks forward to establishing a good working relationship with new and emerging leaders in the region, and has resolved to forge ahead in developing solutions and plans to address each encounter to resolve all applicable issues quickly. One of the goals of the organization is to create the institutional infrastructure for the region’s and its own process. The organization has also pledged to assume its role as a convener of issue-related networks, identification and collection of financial and non-financial resources; and serve as a catalyst for communities as they take control of their destinies.
The MDEZA has recommitted to:
- Elect board and commissioners with integrity and honor who understand sound solid business principles,
- Are committed to making the Empowerment Zone better,
- Hire and invest in well trained staff (CEO to clerk) with integrity, honor and understand sound solid business principles -- committed to making the Empowerment Zone better;
- Maintain a strong financial/accounting system;
- Ensure all transactions are clean and at arms-length;
- Strongly monitor projects (‘both the application of the projects and use of funds”),
- Learn from the lessons of the past;
- Continuously and tirelessly pursue opportunities to better the communities with mission, vision, purpose and meaning.
- CEO and staff continuously listen to the concerns and issues of communities served by traveling extensively throughout the Empowerment Zone;
- Strengthen relationships with community leaders;
- Strengthen relationships with the media;
- Strengthen relationships with local elected officials, state elected officials as well as national officials
- Be proactively user friendly,
- Be proactively a problem solver.
