2005 Annual Report Executive Summary

MDEZA held its first annual housing fair on Saturday, July 16, 2005 in the Mississippi Valley State University Hyper Complex Gymnasium. Potential homebuyers, mortgage providers and nonprofit organizations were all under one roof working together to ensure that persons that wished to become homebuyers were well informed of all of their options. A popular radio station, WGRM, reported live from the fair, allowing booth participants to talk about their mortgage products, programs and services and how they could benefit homeowners. The Enterprise Corporation of the Delta (ECD) provided an in-kind service to MDEZA by pulling and analyzing free credit reports. Robert Gates, ECD’s Program Officer, pulled approximately 15 credit reports with scores ranging from 450 – 765. This service proved to be very beneficial as many people have never had their report pulled; therefore many people who may be eligible to purchase a home, don’t know that they are.
