Strategic Plan Highlights:  

With the implementation of its strategic plan, the Woodruff County Champion seeks to achieve a balance in economic and community development. Strategic Plan highlights are as follows:

1)      Establish a Vocational Education Center;

2)      Promote tourism and recreational opportunities;

3)      Assist in the rehabilitation of existing substandard housing;

4)      Improve roads and drainage within County;

5)      Establish Health Centers and outreach programs;.

6)   Develop and retain employment opportunities.

Partnerships:

The Champion Community has partnered with the East Arkansas Community College in providing a mobile learning center in the county.

Leveraging:

The Champion Community has applied for a Sustainable Community Innovation Grant from the Southern Agricultural Research and Education (SARE) Program and the Southern Rural Development Center (SRDC) in order to assist in implementing the strategic plan.

Community Involvement:

The Champion group meets on a monthly basis and also has an annual meeting. The group is in the process of getting all notice of meetings, meeting highlights, and events published in area newspapers as they occur.
